Gervich & Sons, Tremont Inn and lunch, plus the Marshalltown Community School District Administration, and Grimes Farm. $40 fee includes bus transportation, coffee and donuts, lunch, and an ice cream treat. Oh the places we will go! The trip will be held on Wednesday, October 11th from 9 am – 3 pm. Register for course # CRT 1068.(1).
Learn about “Alternatives to Orthopedic Surgery and the Impact on Health Care Costs.” Did you know that orthopedic costs are one of the top 5 cost drivers in healthcare? The use of stem cells in orthopedic care is increasing. This presentation will cover the following: Regenexx: “The Future of Orthopedic Medicine”; procedures; stages of healing, and why natural healing is beneficial; plus comparative results. What are the benefits to business, community and the individual? Speakers will be Medical Staff from Harbor View. This lunch and speaker event is $23 and will be held on Friday, October 13th from 11:30 am – 1 pm. Register for course # CRT 1520.(1)
Be inspired with “Above and Beyond Cancer: Mission to Africa.” In January of 2017, a team of 37 cancer survivors and caregivers embarked on a medical mission trip to work at a public cancer hospital in Kenya, which provides humanitarian care to their patients and families. Working in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, the team laid the groundwork for the construction of the first-ever Hope Lodge outside of the United States. Once built, this Hope Lodge will provide lodging for cancer patients who travel great distances to receive outpatient treatment at this cancer center. In addition to the mission work, Above +Beyond Cancer led the team to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Every member of the team made it to the top of the highest peak in Africa. It was a difficult, amazing journey, and life changing adventure for all who took part. The presentation, which includes breathtaking slides, tells a compelling story of how a group committed to living with passion and purpose, can go above and beyond what they ever thought they could achieve. Richard Graves is the Priest in Partnership of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marshalltown. He began his ministry in July 2015. This lunch and speaker event is $23 and will be held on Friday, October 20th from 11:30 am – 1 pm. Register for course # CRT 1518.(1)
