‘Revival Through Life’s Storms’ women’s retreat is May 4

MARSHALLTOWN – Popular Christian speaker Mandy Sullivan invites area women to join her at a “Revival Through Life’s Storms” mini-retreat on Saturday, May 4, in Marshalltown. Co-sponsored by Iowa Valley Continuing Education and Nurture Her Soul, the retreat will begin with a social time at 5:30 pm, and the program from 6 to 9 pm at the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Conference Center, Dejardin Hall.
“Mandy Sullivan is an inspirational speaker, writer, and perfectly flawed woman of God with a special message for women in our area,” says Rachael Koehler, IVCE Program Developer. “We are subtitling this retreat ‘Women, Wine and the Word,’ and I’m confident that participants will leave the event feeling refreshed, inspired and ready to face the next challenge that comes along.”
Sullivan plans to discuss how women can hold firm to God’s promises for redemption, no matter what life brings their way. “What an unbelievable storm you had in Marshalltown on July 19, 2018!” Sullivan says. “Though fascinating, summer storms can often surprise us by how quickly and unexpectedly they arrive. One minute it’s nice and sunny, and the next it’s dark and treacherous. Like summer storms, the storms in our own lives can seem to appear out of nowhere. They have the power to shock us and leave emotional damage in the aftermath. Whether you are in the midst of a storm right now, or you’re coming out of a storm, or you may be heading into one … we share a God who walks with us all the way.”
The mini-retreat will include one complimentary glass of wine and appetizers, hilarious games and prizes, and a gift for each participant. Live, contemporary Christian music will also be enjoyed.
Cost of the retreat is $39, and a portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Marshalltown Strong Recovery efforts.
