At this time, our campuses are open to select students and employees only. Online classes are going smoothly; events remain canceled until further notice. A few IVCE courses will be held in May with small numbers of students in each class. Students can access our services and staff through email. Outdoor Adventure Kids Camp will be July 11

Outdoor Adventure Kids Camp flierTOLEDO – Kids completing grades 4-8 are invited to participate in a fun-filled day outdoors at the Outdoor Adventure Kids Camp on Thursday, July 11. The classes will be held from 8:30 am to 3 pm at Otter Creek Park in Toledo, IA.

Kids will choose four classes from 12 different options at a cost of just $5 per class, or $20 for the day. Lunch, snacks, a water bottle, and all needed equipment will be provided. Participants should bring their own sunscreen.

This year’s classes include Nature Photography, Archery, Native Bee Challenge, Pondering, Canoeing/Kayaking, Catch a Fish, Campfire Cooking, Nature Hike Scavenger Hunt, 3D Nature Art, Air Riflery, Bowfishing Basics, and Sleeping Under the Stars.

Transportation for South Tama students to and from Otter Creek Park will be available from South Tama Community Elementary School; pickup and drop-off times will be shared via student contact information provided during registration. The camp will be held if there’s light rain or drizzle; in the event of more severe weather, the rain date is July 12. If needed, the weather announcement will be posted at

Outdoor Adventure Kids Camp is co-sponsored by Iowa Valley Continuing Education, South Tama Community School District, Tama County Conservation, and Iowa State University Extension.
