Need employees? Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair is April 1

Central Iowa businesses and organizations interested in recruiting additional employees are encouraged to register to participate in the annual Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair. This year’s Career Fair will be Wednesday, April 1, the Marshalltown Community College Student Activity Center at 3700 S. Center St. in Marshalltown.

Information about the Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair is online at http://bit.ly/Hwy30CareerFair, including an online registration form for employers who want to participate. Employers must register for a booth before Wednesday, March 25.

“Like last year, the Career Fair will be held from 10 am to 12:30 pm in the MCC Student Activity Center,” says Sara Aguilera, IowaWORKS Career Advisor Lead and Career Fair organizer. “Last year more than 80 employers were committed to attend, but the event was held in February and we had to reschedule due to weather. This year the Fair is moved to April, which should eliminate any winter weather issues for us.”

Employers are reminded that space and electrical access in the MCC Student Activity Center are limited, so employer participation will be accepted on a first-registered, first-served basis. After submitting the online registration form, employers will receive a confirmation and additional details via email from Aguilera.

In addition to job and career opportunities, there will be tables at the Career Fair offering information about education and training options for those seeking employment or education for a new job or career change. The Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair is free and open to the public.

Questions about the Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair can be directed to Aguilera by calling 641-754-1400 (ext. 36978) or emailing Sara.Aguilera@iwd.iowa.gov.

The 2020 Highway 30 Corridor Career Fair is sponsored by Ames Chamber of Commerce, Buena Vista University, Iowa Valley Community College District, IowaWORKS, KDAO AM/FM/TV & KTDV-FM, KIX 101.1 & 1230 KFJB, and Marshalltown Municipal Transit.
