Beekeeping & Beyond course begins Feb. 19

NOTE: This course has been delayed one week and will start on Feb. 19; there will be no class on March 11.

Did you know honeybees visit approximately 2 million flowers to produce just one pound of honey?  Everyone from those interested in beekeeping to experienced beekeepers will enjoy the Beekeeping & Beyond course that starts Feb. 12 in Iowa Falls. The course will be taught by experienced beekeeper Pat Ennis, Iowa Honey Producers past president.

Beyond interesting facts about bees and beekeeping, this four-week program will benefit beginners interested in beekeeping as well as experienced beekeepers who want to take their knowledge to the next level. Each participant will receive a beekeeping book, which is included in the fee. The registration and payment deadline for this program is Monday, Feb. 10.

Beekeeping & Beyond, Iowa Valley Continuing Education course ID #5039, will be held on four Wednesdays, Feb. 12 to March 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Participants will meet at the Ellsworth Community College Ag Building at 707 Ellsworth Ave. on the ECC Hamilton Campus in Iowa Falls.  Cost of the course is $49. The minimum class size is 10 students.
