This 8-hour course introduces the student to troubleshooting at both the system and component levels. Topics covered include: three methods of component testing; testing of lamps, push-button and selector switches, relays, contactors, overloads, fuses and circuit breakers, motors, and transformers; a 6-step troubleshooting sequence; four methods of system level troubleshooting; five types of in-circuit component tests; how to test and analyze circuit signals. Participants must bring: notebook, pencils, calculator, safety glasses, multi-meter, wire strippers, screwdrivers, long nosed pliers, and lineman’s pliers.
