STEM Camp for Girls registrations due May 30

“Terrific Trees” is the theme for the June 17-21 STEM Camp for Girls in grades 5-7. The camp will be held Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 3 pm, and it’s limited to 30 participants. Preregistrations are required by Thursday, May 30.

“This year’s activities in the STEM Camp for Girls will focus on forestry,” explains Dr. Danielle Kness, Marshalltown Community College Biology Faculty. “Students will have the opportunity to make chocolate treats, build a wildlife habitat, and program a computer game that they can take home at the end of the week. On the final day of camp, we will plant fruit trees in our community gardens!”

Cost of the camp is $75 per girl, which includes program costs, afternoon snacks, and a t-shirt. The camp is co-sponsored by Iowa Valley Continuing Education and the MCC Faculty.
