Did you know?

McTV programming includes locally filmed shows that air five to 10 hours a day, seven days a week.

Currently McTV films Marshalltown City Council meetings and School Board of Education meetings; produces its own show called “Discover Marshalltown,” and films local events in the school and the community at large. McTV is governed by a 9-member board of volunteers representing city government, the media, education, and the community at large.

Marshalltown Community Television (McTV) is now providing viewers the option of watching programming online. Programs available to watch online include Marshalltown City Council Meetings, School Board meetings, community events, sporting events and other local programming.

The channel’s facilities are housed at Iowa Valley Continuing Education on the campus of Marshalltown Community College. Facilities include a 30’ x 40’ TV studio equipped with studio cameras, switcher, and post-production editing equipment, and a control room (804), cable TV origination, video duplication and digital editing equipment.

Students in MCC’s Mass Media Studies/Broadcasting program assist with local scheduling and production as part of their curriculum training. Some students are camera operators trained and designated for McTV filming projects.

Programming includes informational interviews pertaining to local topics, favorite classic movies, locally-produced videos, and educational programming originating from Iowa Valley Continuing Education and Marshalltown Community College.
