Iowa Valley Continuing Education offers classes in several communities throughout the District, which includes primarily Marshall, Hardin, Tama and Poweshiek Counties. Most (but not all) classes are held in these key locations:

Marshall County

• Iowa Valley Continuing Education Center, 3702 S. Center St., Marshalltown

• Marshalltown Community College, 3700 S. Center St., Marshalltown

• R.M. Wolfe Education Center = Workforce Development Center, 3405 S. Center St., Marshalltown

• Business Technology Center = 3700 S. Center St., Marshalltown (east end of the MCC campus)

IVCE/MCC Room Map

• The Iowa Valley Education & Training Center is located at 206 E. Church St., Marshalltown. The Education & Training Center offers programs in skilled training, English as a Second Language courses (ESL), High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), Citizenship and much more.

• IVCCD Orpheum Theater Center is located at 220 E. Main St., Marshalltown. The Orpheum has several spaces available for events and classes which include:
  • A historic lobby and movie house which seats 152 and is ADA accessible.
  • A black box theater which seats a maximum of 146 for live performances, seminars, corporate presentations, exhibits and local community gala events.
  • A gallery and exhibit space which houses a permanent collection celebrating Iowans of the stage and screen.
  • A venue for local corporate seminars, civic meetings and luncheons.
  • A fully equipped Scene Shop for production building of scenery and props.
  • An outside amphitheater and coffee shop patio area available for performance or private functions.

  Hardin County

  • In the Hardin County area many courses are held at Ellsworth Community College, 1100 College Ave., Iowa Falls. IVCE in Hardin County also offers courses located in neighboring towns. IVCE in Iowa Falls also offers Leadership courses, High School Equivalency Diploma courses and English as a Second Language. These classes are coordinated by Sherilyn Hitch.

  Poweshiek County

  • Iowa Valley Grinnell is located at 123 6th Ave. West, Grinnell. This facility holds classes convenient for both Poweshiek and Tama county residents.

  Tama County

  • The Iowa Valley Tama County Education Center is located at 215 West 9th St., Tama. This location offers English and a Second Language as well as High School Equivalency classes.
