Successful completion of this exam meets one of the state requirements for persons seeking employment as a nurse aide in a long-term care facility in Iowa. A score of 70% or more is considered passing. You must show a photo ID before testing. You will need a watch with a second hand, and you are encouraged to wear your uniform. You should arrive 15 minutes before your exam time. There are no refunds for no-show no-call exam candidates.

Lumens Account Check:
- First, ensure you have a student account in Lumens. You likely created this when you registered for your CNA class. If you’re unsure or haven’t done this yet, please register for a student account using the “Register Now” button on this page. (Make sure the name you use on your Lumens account matches your ID.)
You will need to complete a computer-based test AND an in-person skills exam. These exams can be taken in any order you choose.
- Schedule Your Computer-Based Test: Call 641-752-4645 to schedule a date and time to take your computer-based CNA exam.
- Schedule Your In-Person Skills Test: Call 641-752-4645 again to schedule a separate date and time for your in-person skills evaluation.
