Digital Essentials Training for Local Businesses & Nonprofits at BCS
MARSHALLTOWN, IA — In an era where “keeping up” with technology can feel like a full-time job, Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions (BCS) is offering a lifeline to local professionals. Starting this February, the Digital Essentials for Business Series provides a high-impact, four-session deep dive into the tools that actually move the needle for small businesses and nonprofits. From mastering AI to turning a smartphone into a productivity powerhouse, this series cuts through the tech noise to deliver practical, “do-it-on-Monday” skills.
The program is specifically designed for the busy professional—business owners, managers, and office staff—who need to strengthen their digital presence without a massive time or financial investment. For less than $20 per session (totaling $74 for the full series), participants can join the hands-on workshops either in person at BCS or virtually via Zoom.
The Digital Essentials Breakdown
The series meets every Wednesday at noon, providing a perfect “Lunch and Learn” opportunity for teams and individuals:
- Session 1: AI Tools for Business Productivity: Stop wondering about AI and start using it. This session explores how tools like AI chat can streamline email drafting, summarize complex info, and support better decision-making with a focus on responsible, real-world use.
- Session 2: Visual Content Creation for Business Impact: Good design shouldn’t be expensive or difficult. Participants will use Canva and other accessible tools to create on-brand graphics for marketing and internal communications, leaving the session with ready-to-use visuals.
- Session 3: Strategic Social Media for Business Growth: Go beyond “likes” and focus on growth. Using the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) framework, attendees will learn how to identify the right platforms for their specific audience and draft posts that drive action.
- Session 4: Smartphone Power Hacks for Business Pros: Your phone is more than a communication device; it’s a portable office. Learn hidden settings, notification shortcuts, and organizational hacks to secure your data and speed up your daily workflow.
