This 100-question multiple-choice computer-based exam tests basic skills and knowledge of a nurse aide seeking employment in a long-term care facility. This test has a 2-hour limit and a test proctor. To register for this test, you must know your Social Security number. You must show a photo ID to the test proctor prior to your exam.
Steps to Complete Your CNA Exams:
You will need to complete a computer-based test AND an in-person skills exam. These exams can be taken in any order you choose.
- Schedule Your Computer-Based Test: Call 641-752-4645 to schedule a date and time to take your computer-based CNA exam.
- Schedule Your In-Person Skills Test: Call 641-752-4645 again to schedule a separate date and time for your in-person skills evaluation.
Prior to Registering with Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions
- Have you taken the Nurse Aide Phase 1 or 76 Hour Nurse Aide through Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions?
2. If yes, proceed to step 4. - If No, create your new student profile with Iowa Valley.
- Go to: https://iavalley.augusoft.net/
- Click on LOGIN/CREATE ACCOUNT
- Under New Students, Click on Create New Profile
- Under Profile Creation, Select Profile Type, choose Student Profile (single user) and Submit.
- On Create New Student Profile complete all required items (with a red star) on the three pages and save.
- Make note of your ID number.
- Call 641-752-4645 to schedule your one or both of your exams. Or stop by our office at 3702 south Center Street, Marshalltown Iowa. Payment is required at this time.Important:

- You will receive your score right away.
- Make sure your address is correct with the Nurse Aide Registry at the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals located in Des Moines.
