Iowa Valley BCS and Iowa Workforce Development to Host “The Voice of Experience” Panel to Kick Off Free Succession Planning Series

Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions (BCS) and Iowa Workforce Development are proud to announce the launch of their highly anticipated free lunch and learn series, “Navigating Tomorrow: Your Future-Ready Succession Plan.” The inaugural session, titled “The Voice of Experience: A Panel Discussion,” will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2025, offering Marshalltown-area small business owners invaluable insights into successful business transition.

Succession planning is a critical, yet often overlooked, aspect of business longevity and sustainability for small enterprises. This first session aims to demystify the process by featuring a panel of local business leaders who have firsthand experience with effective succession. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear their stories, learn from their challenges, and gain practical advice for planning the next chapter of their own businesses.

“We are incredibly excited to bring ‘The Voice of Experience’ to our community,” says Jacque Goodman, Vice President of Business and Community Solutions. “Hearing directly from those who have successfully navigated succession provides a powerful and relatable perspective for business owners. This panel sets a strong foundation for our entire series, empowering attendees to start thinking proactively about their business’s future.”

The distinguished panel will include:

  • Chad Raymon, Raymon Enterprises
  • Vic & Gayle Hellberg, Hellberg’s Jewelers
  • Doug Gervich, M. Gervich & Sons, Inc.
  • Kris & Shannon Naughton, ServiceMaster of Marshalltown

“This collaborative series with Iowa Valley BCS underscores our commitment to supporting the economic vitality of Marshalltown,” adds Michelle Roseburrough, Iowa Workforce Development. “Providing free, accessible, and high-quality information like this panel discussion is crucial for the growth and stability of our local small businesses.”

The “Voice of Experience” session is free to attend, and a complimentary lunch will be provided. While the event is free, advance registration is required to ensure adequate planning for lunch.
