Workforce Ready Course Offered in May
For many people, writing a resume and interviewing for a job is a stressful situation. Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions (BCS) is looking to take the stress out of the job search with the Workforce Ready course, which will be offered May 22 – May 25.
The class, to be held at the Education and Training Center, located at 206 E. Church Street in Marshalltown, will teach employability skills, customer service skills, resume writing, applications, and interview skills that are transferable across many occupations. Students will discover their interests to help navigate their job and/or education opportunities. They will tour area agencies that can assist them on their pathway.
“We are excited to provide this service to our students and community members,” said Becky Hassett, Director of Student Support Services. “We work to provide all of the skills that a student will need to succeed at the next level, including these crucial workforce skills.”
This course, FREE to all who register, is designed for people re-entering the workforce, employees looking to change career paths, and recent graduates that are entering the workforce for the first time.
“The skills taught in this course will apply to almost every career, and will be beneficial to anyone in the workforce looking to take the next step in their career,” said Patty Mendoza, Director of Adult Literacy. “No matter the stage you are in your job search or current career, we can help take you to the next level.”
