This course presents rehabilitation concepts and techniques to be used in health care settings. The nurse aide will learn to provide care according to the care plan and under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physical Therapist. Competencies include restorative care for residents with neurovascular diseases, transfers, body mechanics, and use of assistive devices and prosthetics.
Must be active on the Direct Care Worker registry with 6 months of experience as a nurse aide in long-term care and provide a letter of recommendation from the nursing director or administrator.
This course has 65 hours of class and lab and a 20-hour job shadow component.
