Online course from the American Heart Association is designed for those with no medical training to help them recognize emergencies. Skills learned include: providing first aid, performing CPR, using an AED, and relief of choking prior to arrival of emergency providers. First part of the course is online at www.onlineaha.org for $30.00 (choose “Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED Online Part 1”). Complete the course then call BCS at 641-752-4645 or go online at www.IowaValley.com to schedule your skills session. You will need to bring your online class certificate to the skills session. This course does not meet DHS provider requirements due to the online component.
