This 36-hour course covers proper weld safety, machine setup and an overview of Stick, MIG, and Oxyacetylene welding, torching and plasma cutting as used for maintenance and repair. Included in the course is welding for different surface conditions such as rust, paint, coatings, or clean. Topics include machine set-up; major processes; weld preparation; techniques for striking an arc; basic joints; weld bead shape; how variables affect the finished weld; where they can be used; safety; and trouble shooting.
