COVID-19 Update as of Mar. 26, 2020

Check https://www.iavalley.edu/about-the-district/covid-19-updates/ for additional updates regarding IVCCD’s responses to COVID-19.

Happily, there is no new emergency news today! Our campuses are open to select students and employees only. Online classes are going smoothly; lab classes and events remain canceled until mid-April. Students can access services and staff through email. Our switchboards are accepting calls, but most staff are not on campus at this time. We hope you and your families are staying healthy and enjoying today’s spring weather.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

esl_may2015

Learning English is a challenge, but Iowa Valley Continuing Education offers classes for people who do not speak English as their first language … and we make the learning enjoyable! Our English as a Second Language/ESL classes are offered in several communities including Grinnell, Iowa Falls, Marshalltown and Tama.

ESL classes are offered at several levels: for beginners, intermediates and advanced speakers. The lessons cover speaking, reading, listening, and writing. The class environment is supportive and students encourage each other, making it fun. ESL classes are open to people from any country or culture.

If you know someone who would like to learn English, check out our list of upcoming ESL courses and help him/her take the next step toward skill in a new language.
